Real stories from runners who have rebuilt their strength and conditioning and rediscovered their running technique

At almost 70, I've recovered from my injuries and now run stronger than ever.

I have been one of Darren's clients for almost 2 years now.

I've been fortunate enough to finish a handful of half marathons, and I've been part of a running club for over 30 years, but like most almost 70 year olds, I've had a long history of injuries. I'd battled with IT band syndrome and have had serious knee injuries in the past.

With the guidance of Darren and the personalised programs, I've been able to improve my running dramatically and general wellbeing, but also help me fully recover from those injuries and, more importantly, prevent me from getting injured.

Overcoming knee injuries to get back into running and playing netball.

After following the 3 Pillars of Health and Strength, my running has improved. I am able to tackle longer runs without risking my knee (rupture to the right patella tendon years ago), and I have also found that my netball game is much stronger.

I have changed the way I train for the better. Thank you, Darren, for giving me the tools to do so.

Looking for preventative measures before and after ultra events.

I thought it was time to take some advice on how to best keep my body together and reduce the risk of injuries. Hence, I turned to Darren.

I've now worked with him on my form and understanding of my biomechanics while getting on top of my ongoing hamstring tendinitis that had hindered my running abilities for many years.

Last year, I finished my second Spine — 268 miles race. I'm forever grateful for what I've been able to tick off my list since working with him.

How I avoided surgery and got back playing football pain-free.

When I first started training, I was dealing with chronic back and hip pain that had gotten so severe that surgery was starting to feel like my only option.

Through a customised program focused on building core strength, improving posture, and restoring mobility, not only has my back pain drastically improved, but I'm now stronger, more flexible, and able to enjoy activities that used to cause discomfort.

Most importantly, I avoided surgery, and I'm back playing football pain-free.

Defying the odds after a double hip replacement.

After going through a really difficult time with having a bad limp and needing two hip replacements, I would often think to myself — is this it? Am I always going to have this pain in my hip? Am I always going to feel feeble?

Those questions were answered once I started the 3 Pillars of Health & Strength program, and it soon became a reality that I was going to be able to get my body stronger and move pain free.
